"Negotiating between my nature and the nature of my materials, I look at the world. Once an artwork leaves the studio, it becomes unique to the response of the viewer. Titling is a personal summary of the finished work as well as the vision and process leading to each work. The works represent a cross section of the way I see".

"Darryl Pottorf's art works are some of the most provocative visual creations in the contemporary scene. They celebrate the specific environment and their reflections and transparencies record the viewers' presence and movement. These works are the proof and witness of the changes of light even when no one is watching. The fixed image works have the appearance of an archeological dig that seems to be uncovered within the paper. Pottorf's work has an austere generosity that makes one happy."
