"Autogrid Off," acrylic, 44 1/2 x 35", 1995.
The artist's statement:
"My approach to any subject, whether it is a painting, a drawing or
even sculpture, is to try to present a version of a reality that is parallel
to existing reality. I am devoted to depicting a realism according to what
I perceive to be real or truthful. In portraying a theme, be it a person(s),
thing(s) or a scene, my goal is to rely on my instinct or my gut feeling.
Then and only then is my composition, my spacing, my colors and my use of
abstract forms united successfully.
