Judy Chicago, "The Dinner Party"
© 1979 Judy Chicago
Betty Brown has distinguished herself as a longtime commentator and advocate
on behalf of women artists from a feminist perspective. In the first of
a two-part commentary, Brown recalls the impact on her of The Dinner
Party when it was first exhibited in 1979, and reflects on what feminism
has achieved to date on the occasion of UCLA/Armand Hammer Museum's "Sexual
Politics: Judy Chicago's Dinner Party in Feminist Art History."
