(l.)  David Middlebrook, “Viva De La Morte”, bronze and stone, 45” x 30” x 24”.
(r.)  Tom Wallick, “Untitled”, porcelain platter with macro-crystalline glaze, 21” x 2.5”.

View haiku, borne in bronze and stone.  Sharpened by masterful skill, David Middlebrook’s succinct sculptural language incites intrigue on the border where man and nature meet.

David Middlebrook received his M.F.A. at the University of Iowa in 1970.  He is currently the Associate Chair of the Fine Arts Department at San Jose State University and is best known for his site specific work and sculptural gardens.

Gallery owner, David Armstrong (founder of the American Museum of Ceramic Art), consistently offers an astounding selection of ceramic art and sculpture by artists including Paul Soldner, Bennett Bean, Sylvia Hyman, Thomas Hoadley, Tom and Elaine Coleman, Don Reitz, Ricky Maldonado and more.

Join us December 9th, 6 to 9 p.m. for an artist’s reception with Kris Friedrich and Tom Wallick as they open the “Surface by Nature-Crystalline Glazes” exhibition, showing until February 3rd, 2007.
