Schmeidler-Goetz Gallery Displays Dynamic Exhibition By Viennese Painter
Please join us in conjunction with the 7th Annual Art & Design Walk & West Hollywood Art Walk for the inaugural reception for the Schmeidler-Goetz Gallery.
Gottfried Helnwein, (born in Vienna in 1948), is a formidable artist and his work has often been seen as controversial because it functions as moral probes. He continually reveals affecting issues within his work practice. He has exhibited extensively at key venues throughout the world and is currently preparing for a one-man show at the Fine Arts Museums, San Francisco (July 31 2004 – January 16 2005) and will have a retrospective exhibition at the China National Museum of Fine Arts, Beijing in 2005. He is collected by numerous museums including: Los Angeles County Museum of Art Los Angeles, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art San Francisco, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, The Denver Art Museum Denver, Smithsonian Institute Washington D.C., San Jose Museum of Art San Jose, and many more.
