The Artists

Matthew Fisher lives and works Brooklyn, New York and we’re proud to introduce his work to Southern California.  His images of 19th century soldiers show introspective figures who exist in a world of implied chaos and visceral reactions.  Fisher’s  solitary soldiers contemplate their inner struggles during the quiet moments of war.  The soldiers often find themselves in ambiguous situations of uncertain destiny.  Mr. Fisher is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and Columbus College of Art and Design.

Thomas Frontini’s paintings often take place in modern times with historical reference.  They are meant to examine the consistency of repetitive behavior in the human condition.  The themes covered poke fun at the romanticized vision of war, success, love, material wealth as well as political and environmental issues of modern day combined with influential images from art history and literature.  The paintings are meant to have the viewer untangle the layers of meaning.  Mr. Frontini was born and raised in Canada, moved to Ohio as a young adult and now lives with his wife and children in Cleveland.

Tina Gulotta received early inspiration and instruction from the art colony of the Berkshire Hills in Western Massachusetts to develop into a contemporary surrealist painter and poet.  Ms. Gulotta combines the dream-like imagery of the Surrealists, the mythic archetypes of the Symbolists and the compositional force of the Mannerists to forge unique female forms and images.  Her vast travels and time spent living abroad provide her with many experiences from which to draw.  Ms. Gulotta resides and works from her home-studio in Los Angeles.

Michael Slaght displays exceptional command of color, texture and form in his paintings.  His realistic depictions of natural and man-made objects are created through the use of various emulsions and thin acrylic washes in subtly graduated hues which give a crisp brilliance to his paintings. Mr. Slaght is a fourth generation Californian raised in Orange County and trained at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
